Let’s be honest, as members of an angst, parties can be challenging for us at times. It can be difficult for us, the introverts, to take in all of the energy, loud music, and continuous chatting. Observing those lively people enjoying the moment in the crowd effortlessly, we may wonder if they are experiencing a level of enjoyment that is beyond our abilities.
The truth is that social interaction is a vital component of being a part of this generation. Making new friends, interacting with others, and exchanging memories are how extroverts get energy. For them, it is similar to breathing. Does that mean we, the introverts, are not part of this Gen Z?
Sometimes people judge us for being introverts. They consider our lack of conversation to be an ego that stops us from being charming. However, that is not true. Some introverts may feel uncomfortable engaging in lively conversation with a stranger. However, if you become close to them, you will soon realize that they are not egoistic; rather, it is simply their nature.
Introverts sometimes think that they need to be extroverts in order to enjoy life. It is true that we introverts often feel left out when we are surrounded by a lot of people. Which can sometimes cause us to feel alone. At this point, some introverts think that being an extrovert is the key to being happy. So they try to push them into the crowd. They begin to imitate any of their friends who are naturally outgoing and the life of the party. They start to behave against their own nature, which is more painful for them.
But here's the thing: being introverted isn't a bad thing! It’s not like we do not like crowds. We like it, but only if it is for our dear ones. However, when it is about strangers, it becomes a real struggle for us to get connected with them in a very short period of time and enjoy the moment. Even though those parties often seem exciting, the reality is that big social gatherings can exhaust us. We introverts have our own ways to enjoy and create memories. We enjoy deep conversations, appreciate quiet time, and are great listeners. We recharge ourselves by spending time in nature, reading a book, or spending time by ourselves with our thoughts and emotions. There is a whole world to enjoy for introverts!
The moral of the story is: Let’s normalize being introverted. And most importantly, introverts should accept that being an introvert is nothing bad. They do not need to act like an extrovert. We know how it feels to sit in a corner and look around and watch people having fun. But you do not need to be there just to fit yourself into this extroverted world.
